Mohan Sai
MS Data Science Student
I'm an MS Data Science student at the University of Delaware and a member of the Water Intelligence Lab, where I build the machine-learning pipelines and cyber-infrastructure behind the lab's water-modeling work. My work spans cloud ML pipelines for runoff prediction, coupling hydrologic and coastal models through standard model interfaces, a locally-hosted LLM assistant for the lab, and open data collection for coastal flood-risk research. I care about solid software engineering — CI/CD, reproducibility, and turning research code into reliable, usable tools.
Education
- MS Data Science, University of Delaware, 2025
Currently working on
- U.S. Coastal Pump-Station Inventory
An open inventory of U.S. coastal pump stations across 55 cities for compound-flood-risk and energy-intensity analysis, aimed at a published dataset.
- Local Hydro-Modeling LLM Assistant
A private, locally-hosted multi-tenant LLM + RAG assistant that answers hydrologic-modeling questions (WRF-Hydro, SCHISM, BMI, PyMT, MPI, GIS) at postdoc-tier depth with citations.
- WRF-Hydro ↔ SCHISM Coupling (BMI)
A BMI wrapper for WRF-Hydro that couples it one-way with the SCHISM coastal-ocean model via PyMT for compound-flooding simulation — including the first MPI-aware BMI processing element.
